Shweta Tiwari born (October 4, 1980) in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India is an Indian Film and Television Actress. She played the role of Prerna in Balaji Telefilms's popular Television Show Kasautii Zindagii Kay that used to be aired on an Indian television channel STAR Plus, for which she has received so many awards. She has done several commercial advertisements, dance shows, plays and cameos in other television serials. Tiwari is now working in Bhojpuri Films. She was one of the judges on Star Plus reality dance show Aajaa Mahi Vay.

Personal life

Shweta Tiwari is the daughter of Nirmala and Ashok Tiwari, She was born on October 4, 1980. Tiwari was brought up inMumbai. She got her early education from the all girls' school 'St.Isabel' in Mumbai. At the age of 12, Shweta worked in a travel agency with a salary of Rs. 500/- per month. She did her graduation in commerce from Burhanis College in Mazegaon. She has a younger brother by name Nidhaan

Shweta married Raja Choudhary, her co-star in a Bhojpuri movie. They have a daughter named Palak. In 2008, Shweta filed for divorce from Raja accusing him of domestic violence against her. Raja got his fame in the second season of a reality show called Bigg Boss.

Career

As an Actress

Shweta Tiwari got noticed by a well-known director while she was playing "Khoobsoorat Bahu" on stage. Once her acting career was launched with "Kaleerein" in 1999 there was no turning back for her. She has also been the lead actress in the movie apna boli apna des.

As a Producer

Shweta has now turned a Producer and will be producing Television Serials and Films.
