Puja Gupta was the winner of Miss India Universe in 2007. She later went to Mexico to participate at Miss Universe 2007. Wearing a gunmetal gown with Mongol inspired beadwork designed by Hemant Travedi, Puja reached the top ten finishing in 9th place.

She's made some wonderful friends for life. "All the other contestants, specially Miss Czech and Miss Indonesia, are beautiful people. We have such long discussions about ourselves and our respective countries. Even the judges have made us so comfortable here. They told me that India is one country famous for its beauty, that's why so many winners come from there. And yes, they know about our movies and Amitabh Bachchan," smiles Puja.

Born in New Delhi on September 19, 1984, Gupta came to the spotlight after winning the Pantaloons Femina Miss India Universe in 2007 organized by Pantaloons, a clothing line and Femina, a women's magazine in India. Puja Gupta aspires to a career in Bollywood Her interests include drawing, traveling, writing, yoga and horse riding.
