Shriya Kishore is a model and an Indian beauty queen. She was crowned as Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth 2009 in Mumbai on April 5, 2009. She is expected to represent India in the Miss Earth 2009, which will be held between the 4th and 24th of October, 2009.

Biography

Kishore was born on the 12th of May in 1986 to Nirupama and Colonel Sanjay Kishore. She did her schooling at the Lawrence School in Lovedale, Ooty.

Kishore had graduated with a Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM) Degree from the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGHSA) at the Manipal University in Manipal, Karnataka, India in 2008. She joined WGSHA in 2004 as part of the 19th Course of the college. She excelled not only in academics but also in co-curricular activities, and sports. According to Vice Principal of WGSHA, Dr. Kulmohan Singh, "Kishore had constantly ranked amongst the 20 best students of the class."

Kishore’s profile in the Institute’s Placement records show that she won the Miss Pune beauty pageant title in 2006 when she was still studying at the college in Manipal. While at college, Kishore obtained grade point average (GPA) scores of 8.46, 8.96 and 8.24 in her first, second and third years respectively. She scored the highest marks in the practical exams of the Hotel Housekeeping and Front Office Management departments. She is supposed to have bagged a placement in the Mumbai division of the Oberoi Group of Hotels during her final year at Manipal. She also underwent a 26 week long Industrial training in the second half of 2005 at The ITC, Grand Central and the Luxury Collection Hotels in Mumbai.

Femina Miss India 2009

Kishore won the Miss India Earth title at the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009 beauty pageant in Mumbai. Pantaloons Femina Miss India is a national beauty pageant competition in India, which annually selects three winners to compete in Miss Earth, Miss Universe, and Miss World. She won along with Ekta Choudhary, who was crowned Miss India Universe 2009 and Pooja Chopra who got the Miss India World 2009. Kishore was crowned by Miss India Earth 2008 Tanvi Vyas.

Kishore had gained a wild card entry into the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009. She will represent India at the Miss Earth 2009 in October this year where young ladies from 90 different countries will compete to win the crown. The winner will then officially represent the Miss Earth foundation and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
